YES, REALLY.

This is Java Edition in a browser.

Aevocraft isn't a Minecraft-inspired browser game. It's a portability and compatibility project built around the Java Edition client architecture.

The game can load real worlds, connect to Java servers and run gameplay directly in the browser: movement, camera, combat, inventory and other parts of the real client.

WHY AEVOCRAFT EXISTS

A game built for the desktop.
A platform it was never designed for.

Minecraft Java Edition expects a JVM, desktop windows, OpenGL, filesystem access, desktop input APIs, traditional network connections and a game loop designed to control its own process.

Browsers work in a completely different way.

Aevocraft doesn't rebuild Minecraft from scratch to solve that problem. It adapts the environment around the client so it can run in the browser.
